Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to poke fun at Robbie Savage after the Scottish Premiership weekend ended with Neil Lennon’s side top of the table.

A 6-0 rout at home to Ross County on Saturday has ensured that the Hoops are league leaders on goals scored.

Rangers could only draw level on points after a 1-1 result away to Hearts at Tynecastle this afternoon.

There’s obviously a long way to go before honours are handed out. However, given the fuss that was made when the Gers went top prior to the international break, it is amusing they couldn’t hold on to their lead for more than one matchday.

Back then on October 6th, Savage had taken to the social media site to take a jab at former Celtic star Sutton.

However, today it is Henrik Larsson’s former strike partner who is having the fun.

After the full-time whistle at Tynecastle he responded with a pair of tweets that are going down well with some Celtic supporters.

Wonderful Celtic response

Away from the social media bluster of pundits, as amusing as it is, what’s most pleasing about this weekend is the response of the Hoops to defeat last time out.

The Livingston result was a bit of a shocker both in terms of scoreline and performance.

It was hugely important against Ross County that the Scottish champions reminded everyone why we are the top dogs. Lennon’s men delivered that.

We are now set up nicely for challenges ahead, which don’t get any easier.

Hosting Lazio this Thursday, we’re then off up to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen. It’s a double header that will have a big say on the momentum we now carry on into the rest of Autumn and the Winter months.
