You can tell that Chris Sutton hasn’t been impressed with Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham last season.

Despite both Porto and Marseille reportedly being interested in signing the player, Sutton has given a withering two-word assessment of his performances last season.

He also is unsure if any club will pay the big money Celtic reportedly want – between 15 and 17 million Euros – for the player.

“A huge disappointment”

“Ntcham was a huge disappointment last season, and he might have seen Moussa Dembele getting his multi-million switch to Lyon and do very well and now he possibly fancies a move himself” Sutton said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“Celtic will want decent money for Ntcham but if you watched him last season why would anybody pay big figures for him?”

You can’t blame Celtic for wanting big sums of money for their players. As Sutton himself acknowledges, Moussa Dembele was sold for almost £20 million.

Hoops must demand premium money

Whilst Ntcham hasn’t impressed as often as Dembele, the days of Celtic not getting premium money for players are over.

If Celtic are able to command the fee they want for Ntcham it would be a great piece of business. Even Sutton would surely admit that.

The former Hoops striker doesn’t sound very confident that the Hoops will get the fee they want for the player. We shall find out soon enough. The Hoops won’t want any transfer saga to drag on.
