Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes that manager Ange Postecoglou has done enough to earn the trust of supporters this summer.

Postecoglou has been in charge of the Bhoys for just a few short months but he’s already made a massive impact on the direction of the club.

And now, with the transfer window shut and the squad set until January, Sutton feels that Postecoglou deserves massive credit.

Writing in his Daily Record column, he said: “There’s been enormous change in the last few months with so many key players leaving and the influx of an entirely new team.

“In an ideal world these players would have been in long before the final day but I know it’s not always that straightforward.

“What is clear is that this is now more like Ange Postecoglou ’s team and the manager has shown enough in his first few weeks in the job that he should have the trust of the supporters.

“His signings so far have hit the ground running and they have to believe the latest batch will do the same.”

Postecoglou’s team still have a lot to prove, but I think it’s fair to say the majority of fans will recognise Sutton’s praise as true.

Critics will point to the Champions League exit and the defeat at Ibrox as massive disappointments, and they’re not wrong, but I think the evidence is there that improvements have been made despite those results.
