Chris Sutton doesn’t seem to be happy with the current situation at his former club Celtic. He feels that the club is in danger of regressing badly unless major investment is made.
He has gone as far as to claim that the club is in a similar situation as to when before Brendan Rodgers came in as manager in 2016, and has pointed the finger at the now Leicester City manager.
“You can’t argue with seven trophies on the spin” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“A total mess”

“But he also allowed the club to regress over the last 12 months and has left a total mess for whoever is in charge to mop up in the summer. In fact, you could argue Celtic are in worse state now than when Rodgers came in on the back of Ronny Deila.”
Is Sutton correct? It is quite harsh to blame Rodgers for the situation the Hoops find themselves in.

An overhaul is needed
He won every domestic trophy available in his time as Celtic boss. Although Sutton is correct about Celtic needing an overhaul in the summer.

It is odd that a team that could clinch a third domestic treble in a row in the next week finds itself at a crossroads in the summer.
However, that is the situation that Celtic currently find themselves in. It is up to the club to pay heed to Sutton’s criticisms and address them one way or another.
