With the Premiership title race very tight between Celtic and Rangers, former Hoops legend Chris Sutton has made a bold prediction about the manager of the team that finishes second in the league table.
He expects that manager will be sacked at the end of the season.
“If I’m honest, the team that finishes second in the league, I don’t see their manager lasting next season” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“This season is massive”

“I think it’s that big. They are both managers with great passion and knowledge of the game, but with what’s at stake, this season is massive” he said, referring to Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard.
Those are certainly very interesting comments by Sutton. Neil Lennon would no doubt be under pressure if the Hoops failed to make it nine in a row. It would be a real failure for the Hoops not to win the title.
Hoops chief would have say in manager’s future

Would he be sacked though? That would depend on how Lennon feels he has done in the season that has just ended. Peter Lawwell would no doubt have a say as well.
It would be a real blow to the Hoops if they didn’t win the league this season. That cannot be denied. Fans would undeniably be very upset.
But the infrastructure at the club seems to support Lennon staying on. That includes the recent appointment of Nick Hammond at the club.
Lawwell and Lennon would have a major decision to make should Celtic not win the league this season. Hopefully that doesn’t happen though, and the Hoops boss can spend the summer preparing to make it 10 in a row.
