Celtic legend Chris Sutton has criticised a section of the Hoops support. He feels that some Celtic supporters are too quick to have a go at manager Neil Lennon.
He feels that the negativity will have an adverse effect on the team overall.
“I can’t believe the grumblings”

“I can’t believe the grumblings after just two competitive games” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“The negativity from a large section of the support who didn’t want Lennon was probably inevitable but it will only have an adverse effect on the team and the club as a whole” Sutton concluded.
It seems that last season fans were concerned about the poor performances by the team after Lennon took over. Particularly the defeat against Rangers, which was insipid.
The bizarre timing of Lennon being offered the job less than an hour after winning the treble probably didn’t help matters.
Vast majority of fans will back manager

So Sutton is correct that there are no doubt some fans who didn’t want Lennon back as manager. However, the vast majority of the Celtic support will firmly back the manager.
Even those who have misgivings about Lennon’s appointment will no doubt support Lennon. With the Hoops going for nine in a row, everyone at the club will need to pull together.
There was always going to be criticism of Lennon’s appointment, especially after the success his predecessor Brendan Rodgers had at Celtic.
However, now is the time for the complaints to stop.
