Chris Sutton has admitted that he hope Leigh Griffiths can return to action before the end of the season. The Hoops forward has been out since December, dealing with off-field problems.
But Sutton thinks the player’s return would be a big help in the quest for a domestic treble.
A big help

“No one is suggesting he is given the full responsibility of completing the treble Treble” Sutton told the Daily Record.
“But, when it comes to domestic football, he’s like a one-man wrecking ball.

“Defenders are terrified of him and no wonder. He scores goals from outside of the box, he runs defenders ragged into channels, he can score tap-ins, and he was getting better with headed goals.”
A big boost

Lennon has a big decision to make regarding Griffiths. If he returned before the end of the season, it would indeed be a big boost for the club.
But Griffiths’ issue isn’t something you can put a timescale on. It’s not an injury, where you know the exact recovery time.
Griffiths can only return to football once he feels like he can, which is why he should not be rushed back into the team.
Neil Lennon will be well aware of this, and will no doubt be planning to go on without the player for the rest of the season.
It would be a boost to have Griffiths back, but it might not happen this season.
