Chris Sutton impressed with Christopher Jullien in Celtic draw

Celtic legend Chris Sutton was quick to give a reaction to the Hoops’ 1-1 Europa League draw with Copenhagen.

The former Hoops striker took to Twitter, and felt that the team had enough chances to win the game, but he was impressed with the performances of Fraser Forster, and Christopher Jullien.

1-1. Probably a good result in Denmark, important away goal, missed opportunities but Forster stunning penalty save to keep it 1-1.  Jullien outstanding once again on the big stage” he said.

Jullien certainly has impressed for the Hoops in Europe this season. You only need to look at his performance in both games against Lazio. He has also performed very well against Rangers.

Kept going despite head injury

What made his display against Copenhagen stand out was that he suffered a head injury in the first-half. However, that didn’t stop from managing to keep the Hoops defence together, at times in the second-half when it looked as if it was going to fall apart.

Should Celtic progress further in the Europa League, then Jullien’s determined display will have a lot to do with that.

He has been very good for the Hoops this season, and is proving to be worth the £7 million that the club paid for him in the summer.

Clubs may eventually express an interest in player

If he keeps up his current level of performance, then there is no doubt that clubs will express an interest in signing the centre-back.

For the time being though, he is still a Celtic player. Hopefully he stays with the Hoops for a few more years to come, and can turn in more exceptional displays in Europe.
