Celtic legend Chris Sutton was impressed with Leigh Griffiths’ performance for the Hoops against Nomme Kalju in the Champions League.
Griffiths, making his first Hoops start at home in 2019, showed that he still knows where the back of the net is with a trademark free-kick goal in the game.
Sutton delighted for fellow striker

The goal in particular wowed Sutton, who was pleased to see the player get back on the scoring trail.
“Leigh Griffiths is back…stunning free-kick” he commented on his Twitter account.
It is a bit early to say that Griffiths is back. But the goal showed that his striking instincts have not left him, despite the long lay-off last season.
Manager will temper expectations

Neil Lennon will be delighted with the striker’s performance, but he will not want to rush him back into the team. That will be why he was taken off early in the second-half in the match.
As the weeks progress, Griffiths could get more game time. Perhaps around 70 minutes in the second leg against Nomme Kalju.
Hopefully by the time of the third qualifying round, Griffiths will be able to complete 90 minutes of football.
Griffiths and Celtic won’t be taking anything for granted regarding his comeback. There is still a way to go until the player gets back to his best.
But it does look promising that he has found the back of the net in his first competitive start since last year.
