Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has poked fun at the seriousness of Rangers’ dossier presented to SPFL member clubs today, sarcastically stating it has shaken Scottish football to its core.
As we’ve discussed today, the Ibrox side have shared a lengthy document with a list of grievances regarding how the SPFL conducted itself before and after a club vote last month to end the 2019/20 season.
Despite making a number of allegations and listing their grievances, there doesn’t appear to be much evidence supporting their claims, something that the league itself pointed out in a statement (BBC).
Sutton quoted part of that statement in a tweet, juxtaposing it with the jokey response: “Rangers dossier as expected has shaken Scottish football to the core…”
The dossier, so far, has largely become a point of ridicule amongst Celtic supporters, some of whom have taken to Twitter to mock the lack of evidence and melodramatic claims within.
It’s fair to say that Rangers haven’t quite provided the bombshell evidence that had been hyped up as something that could take down the decision-makers at the SPFL.
Sutton will no doubt have plenty more to say about all of this in the days ahead as he takes to the airwaves and writes in his newspaper column.
Supporters responded to Sutton this afternoon to share their thoughts after his initial quip…
