Former Celtic hero Chris Sutton enjoyed his stint as a call-in pundit on BBC 5 Live on Saturday night, poking fun at a silent Rangers supporter on-air.
A fan called Craig had called up to apparently discuss his team’s exit from the Scottish Cup at the hands of Hearts, but either could not connect or chose not to open up to the panel.
Sutton had fun with the situation, laughing and saying: “I understand why you’re so quiet, it’s been that sort of season. Oh Craig, he’s clammed up there.”
He would later post the video clip on Twitter to let Celtic fans collectively enjoy the moment, prompting hundreds of retweets and thousands of likes.
Celtic continued the side’s excellent cup form earlier today against St Johnstone. The Bhoys have now, incredibly, won the last 34 matches in domestic cup competitions.
A fourth consecutive treble is now on the cards.
Truthfully it’s a task made easier by the exit of Rangers yesterday, with Gerrard’s side playing well against us in the last two derbies, one of which was at Hampden.
Neil Lennon’s team will now have to beat Aberdeen and one of the Edinburgh sides to taste an unprecedented fourth consecutive Scottish Cup success
With the race for the league title also progressing well, it’s a great time to be a Celtic supporter.
There are clearly no guarantees here but the Hoops will be the overwhelming favourites such is the relentlessness and attitude of this Celtic squad.
No doubt Sutton will be around every step of the way to give his thoughts and wind-up Rangers fans every now and again.
