Chris Sutton reckons that Celtic may have been best served starting Leigh Griffiths in tonight’s Europa League clash against Copenhagen.
It proved to be a massively frustrating night at Parkhead as we went down 3-1 to the Danes – going out 4-2 on aggregate despite missing several clear cut chances.
Griffiths may feel that he would have netted one of those opportunities, and Sutton thinks Lennon may be regretting not giving the Scotland man a start.
“I suppose the question will be asked,” the Englishman said at the tail end of the game on BT Sport.
“Why the change in formation? Why didn’t he go with Griffiths up top, the two which have made such a huge difference.
“He elected to go with a back four. It hasn’t paid off.”

Hindsight is always a wonderful gift, especially after raw nights like this.
But surely Lennon will be regretting not giving the Danes more to think about with Edouard and Griffiths both up top.
We looked much more of a threat in the final half an hour after Griffiths entered the fray, with his runs in behind giving us a much better option to stretch the game.
Edouard also improved after the forward’s introduction and it was a moment between those two that helped us get a foothold back in the game with the VAR gifted penalty.
Sadly our defending let us down on the night as we exited Europe.
But with Ibrox to come in less than a month, Lennon will be tasked with a similar dilemma over whether Griffiths should partner the Frenchman.
And you get the impression that he may have tonight in his mind when making that decision.
