Chris Sutton sends Rangers a blunt reality check after Celtic’s draw at Hearts

Chris Sutton delivers a blunt title warning to Rangers after Celtic played out a 2-2 draw at Hearts at Tynecastle.

Celtic knew a win at Tynecastle would keep them above Rangers, and close the gap to Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to three points.

That win looked likely until Celtic defender Auston Trusty was sent off at Tynecastle with 13 minutes to go with the Bhoys 2-1 up.

Will we hunt Hearts down and win the title?

However, Hearts equalised, the points were shared and Rangers leapfrogged Celtic in the table to push Martin O’Neill’s side into third place in the race for the title.

But that doesn’t worry Chris Sutton, who sent a message to Rangers that is all too familiar to the Celtic supporters.

Celtic hero Chris Sutton sends familiar ‘choke’ message to Rangers

With the title race hotting up and Rangers above Celtic in the league table, Sutton reminded the Ibrox support of how they normally ‘choke’ when trying to overtake the Hoops for the title.

Sutton said on BBC 606, ”I mean, they won today against Dundee.

“You expected them to win, but I mean, Rangers fans must be getting excited, but they do sort of have it in their DNA where they choke as well.”

Robbie Savage responded in disbelief as Sutton doubled-down and said, “But they have done historically, you know, in recent times, they love a choke.

Listen to Sutton’s superb put-down below:

How many points Celtic were ahead of Rangers last season

Celtic romped the title last season as Brendan Rodgers sealed the fourth league title win in a row.

The Bhoys were pushed slightly by Rangers at the beginning of the season but Celtic quickly asserted their dominance.

By the time the season ended, Celtic finished 17 points ahead of the Ibrox club on 92 points.

While achieving the 92 points is not possible this season, Celtic can still win the league. There are plenty of games left to do that.

And there are, of course, plenty of games left for Rangers to choke.
