Celtic legend Chris Sutton isn’t known to hold back in his opinions. He often tells like it is, and he has done so again in his latest article for the Daily Record.
He believes that Celtic should not sell Odsonne Edouard in January under any circumstances, no matter how much money a club is willing to bid for the player.
“It is impossible for Celtic to even consider selling Edouard – even if they received a £50million bid” Sutton began.
“Simply unthinkable”

“I’m not saying Celtic will get that kind of offer but the point is it doesn’t matter how much cash is on offer, letting Edouard go in the middle of the season is simply unthinkable”
Sutton’s thoughts will be echoed by the Celtic support. Selling Edouard would be a dreadful idea, particularly in the middle of a title race.
There is no doubt that clubs will be keeping an eye on Edouard, particularly as he has been in such good form for the French under-21 side.
Bids might well come in for the player in January. However, as Sutton says, those cannot be entertained by the Hoops, not even for a single minute.
Only striker who finds the back of the net regularly

Edouard is the only Celtic striker who is finding the back of the net on a regular basis. If he departed in January, the Hoops may well struggle.
You would have to think though, that Neil Lennon and the Celtic board know how important the player is to the Hoops.
That is why is it is highly unlikely that Celtic will consider selling the player in January. It may be a different story at the end of the season. For now though, Edouard has a league to win.
