Chris Sutton has demand that the Celtic board go out and make signings, now that Kieran Tierney is set to leave the club.
The Hoops have reportedly agreed a fee of £25 million with Arsenal for the left-back. Sutton wants to see at least some of that money reinvested in the squad.
“Big news is Tierney looks done to Arsenal” he said on his personal Twitter account.
“At least two”
“If that’s the case Celtic need to bring at least two in if Neil Lennon is to have a chance of being successful, not to do this would be negligent.”
Will Celtic spend the entirety of the £25 million they are set to receive? That is highly unlikely. However, they could spend at least £10 million on some big signings.
One position that must be strengthened
One position that will need to be strengthened is, naturally, left-back. Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo didn’t have the best of games against Cluj. Therefore, it would make sense for the Hoops to bring another left-back in as soon as possible.
As Sutton states, it would be a big help to Neil Lennon if more new arrivals were brought in. More players coming in would give the Hoops a chance to compete in the Champions League and get further ahead in Scotland.
Only time will tell what happens with regard to how many players Celtic sign in the next few weeks. Sutton wants to see at least two new arrivals – and the fans will back him all the way.
