Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to praise the contribution of James Forrest and give his thoughts on today’s 2-1 victory for Neil Lennon’s team.
The Hoops had to really dig out the three points in difficult conditions and up against a physical Aberdeen side at Pittodrie.
Celtic took the lead through Callum McGregor, which was eventually cancelled out by Ash Taylor prior to half-time.
In the second half, our performance didn’t improve much but the team kept working and were eventually rewarded just nine minutes from time with a Kristoffer Ajer winner.
Sutton picked out Forrest as key to that, with his pass finding the onrushing defender, who smashed home.
The BT Sport pundit stated though that Aberdeen were the better side for much of the 90 minutes.
Big win for Celtic … Aberdeen the better team… Celtic guts it out…the touch from Edouard and the assist from Forrest top class👏👏

The magnitude of the win can’t be overstated. This was a match that could have easily ended in a draw or even a defeat.
With Rangers desperately re-arranging their game to play this afternoon, they now have massive pressure on their shoulders.
We’re now 13 points clear at the top of the table, albeit having played two matches more.
With just 11 games remaining in the title race, it’d take a massive capitulation to see it turn around now.
Today showed everyone that even when Celtic stumble and falter in terms of performance levels, the result is likely to come far more often than not.
With quality players like Forrest ready to pop up in critical match moments, we have the stars to push through and secure the wins we need between now and the end of the season.
