Celtic legend Chris Sutton has revealed the name of the player that the club would struggle to replace should he suffer an injury.
That player is striker Odsonne Edouard, who displayed his goalscoring prowess in the recent 2-0 win over Cluj. Sutton was impressed with Celtic’s performance. However, he fears for the Hoops should the attacker be out of action for a spell.
“You’d fear if the Frenchman got an injury

“
“It’s not all perfect. Edouard’s link-up play to go with his goal was sublime but with Leigh Griffiths out of the picture and the jury still out on Vakoun Bayo, you’d fear if the Frenchman got an injury” he said, writing in his column in the Daily Record.
It will be interesting to see if Sutton’s old team-mate and current Hoops manager Neil Lennon shares his concerns about the Hoops strikers.
The chances are that he doesn’t. Notably, the Hoops did not add another striker to their squad when they made signings during the summer transfer window.
Manager seems satisfied with striking options

That surely indicates that Lennon is satisfied with the strikers that he currently has in the squad. It is easy to see why Sutton has concerns over Bayo and Griffiths, but the Hoops boss can’t share those.
As long as the £9 million signing from PSG is fit, Celtic should be alright. Should Edouard get injured though, Lennon must feel that Bayo and Griffiths – when fit – are capable of replacing the Frenchman.
It will be intriguing to see if Bayo gets the nod to start against Livingston. He will be desperate play after missing out through suspension against Cluj. Should the Hoops aim to bypass the artificial turf and play the ball long, it could suit his style of play.
More than likely Lennon will stick with Edouard though, as he is in terrific form. It would not be a surprise to see Bayo involved at some stage though.
