BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has published his reaction on Twitter to Celtic’s quadruple-treble success.

The Hoops secured the historic achievement today as a penalty shootout win over Hearts won the 2019/20 Scottish Cup.

It’s a day that has totally stripped us of all of our energy. Conor Hazard was the hero with two brilliant penalty stops after he looked to have cost us with Hearts’ late third in extra-time.

And popular Celtic-minded pundit Sutton has published his reaction to the game – praising both the Hoops and the Jambos.

Difficult to think straight after Celtic success

It’s odd. It seemed to clear at half-time. 2-0 ahead and the narrative was how we were back in form again. Celtic were bossing Hearts and it looked as though everything was swell.

However, there certainly appears to be a mixture of emotions amongst the supporters. Some are fuming at how toothless we looked at the back, and no wonder. All three goals shipped were shocking. Hazard had made a major error that looked to have cost us the cup.

Then, out of nowhere, after looking like losing the cup, Hazard popped up with two major saves to win it. It sounds so weird to downplay a quadruple-treble. In fact, I don’t think you really can in truth. But it definitely came with a big warning today.

Our defensive lapses are back again and with a vengeance. There were some careless errors from both Shane Duffy and Christopher Jullien that didn’t help us. It would’ve been ideal if we had kept a clean sheet with an efficient display at the back.

Nevertheless, all we can hope is that this spurs us on further. The taste of success should be something unique for the new boys, and something that they should be itching to replicate come the end of the season.

We’ll see what the reaction to this is on Wednesday when we host Ross County. However, for now, we deserve to just soak in the success.
