Celtic will face Aberdeen in next month’s Scottish Cup final.
The last time the two teams faced off in the 2017 Scottish Cup final, history was made as Brendan Rodgers was crowned a Celtic Invincible.
Since then, the Hoops have dominated Scottish football picking up another four domestic trebles and nect month, Rodgers can claim his third as Celtic manager.
But Aberdeen stands in his way and looking ahead to the big game, Chris Sutton made a claim about the Dons that may well surprise many Celtic supporters.

Chris Sutton believes Aberdeen can give Celtic a fright in the Scottish Cup
Now, before anyone thinks that a presumption is being made on this site about the final, it most certainly is not.
However, looking at past results between Celtic and Aberdeen, especially at Hampden, Sutton’s belief that Celtic can be given ‘a run for their money’ is very surprising.
Sutton told BBC 606 [5m], “Treble on. I mean, they’re making it look so easy, Rob. But let’s hear from Celtic fans.
“I think that Celtic may get a run for the money in the final against Aberdeen. Rob, Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen.”
Celtic have not been beaten by Aberdeen for a very long time so let’s take a look at the recent run of results between the two clubs.
Celtic’s superb dominance against Aberdeen
Aberdeen’s last win over Celtic was back in May 2018 during Brendan Rodgers first stint as Parkhead boss.
Since that 1-0 win at Celtic Park there have been 29 fuxtures between both teams with the Hoops unbeaten.
At Hampden, Celtic have been imperious with four wins out of four including the huge 6-0 win in this season’s League Cup semi-final.
Now, of course, it’s a cup tie and anything can happen and Aberdeen could win the match but looking at the recent history and run of results, the Pittodrie club have shown nothing to suggest that they could match Celtic never mind compete when it comes to getting a big result in a major Hampden fixture.
