Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is hyping up youth star Karamoko Dembele.

The French stopper was speaking on his national TV about his new side.

Dembele, a target for many European teams, was a topic of hot conversation. Jullien didn’t shy from revealing how good the wonderkid is to the French presenter. Even if it meant putting himself down in the process, Jullien reveals he is a big fan of Dembele.

Jullien is a much needed centre-back following the departure of Dedryck Boyata. The Frenchman is meeting the call of many fans who were crying out for a top quality defender. Despite a slippy first game, Jullien is progressing into the quality player that the fans are hoping for.

And despite his relatively short time here, Jullien knows that his teammate 10 years his junior will be quality.

Jullien appeared as a guest on La Vestaire on RMC Sports in France last night. He said: “Dembele is a phenomenon, he has undeniable qualities.

“He is fast and always tries to nutmeg me in training.”

Dembele and Jullien are yet to appear in a Celtic match together but it won’t be long, that’s for sure.

Frenchman gives legendary Hoops captain the respect he deserves

One man that has featured with Jullien in a match is captain Scott Brown. The pair are tied at the hip and Jullien doesn’t hide his love for his captain.

He told RMC Sport: “Broony is a legend of the club.

“He is the craziest in the dressing room and I adore his personality.”

Brown is in his 12th season as a Celt while Jullien is just beginning his first. If Jullien can go on to have a career half as good as Brown’s then the Hoops are on to a winner. However, it’s pleasing to see the influence Brown has, even on the new Bhoys with no previous connection to Celtic.
