Summer Celtic signing Christopher Jullien has fallen in love with the club during the few short months he’s spent in Glasgow since his arrival, BBC Scotland report.

The central defender has quickly become one of the most important players in Neil Lennon’s starting eleven, shining both domestically and in European competition.

He scored a massive winning goal against Lazio at Celtic Park recently. He also made a crucial goalline clearance when we bettered them in Rome too.

Often joyous in celebration and found on social media communicating with Hoops fans, he is relishing the switch he made from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse.

Speaking about John Kennedy speculation this week, he couldn’t contain his love for the club.

As quoted by BBC Scotland, he said: “He’s in a good place, we are in a good place.

“Who would leave Celtic? I’m in love with the club and I’m sure that he loves the place.

“Since I arrived, he’s been really good with me. He’s tried to advise me on everything that I can do on the field. Having him on my side every day is really, really enjoyable.”

Worth every penny

The reported fee of £7m that Jullien arrived for (The Scottish Sun), certainly raised a few eyebrows during the transfer window. It’s not often that Celtic spend such a significant amount of money a player, especially one who isn’t what you would consider a young prospect.

It’s fair to say though that he’s justified every single penny.

He’s become a dominating force in the Hoops defensive line. It’s unthinkable that he’d drop out of the side on current form.

There has been a period of adjustment for him. The match against Livingston stands out as a real learning curve about the physicality Scottish football has to offer.

Having played so well though, and also built up quite a rapport with the club and our supporters, he’s a contender to be considered our best signing in 2019.
