Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has paid tribute to supporters with a social media post this afternoon, declaring the Hoops masses as ‘real fans’ who are behind the club through ups and downs.
Jullien only signed for the club last summer but has already become a big hit with supporters, scoring crucial goals in huge matches against Lazio and Rangers, as well as providing a consistent and physical defensive presence in Neil Lennon’s backline.
Already racking up 40 appearances for the club, he’s a candidate to be considered as our best signing this season, even though others like Fraser Forster have also shown remarkable form.
Jullien also regularly communicates with supporters on social media, never shy to share his thoughts on wins or losses and always building up the next encounter on the horizon.
This week that threat comes in the form of Copenhagen, who host the Scottish champions in Europa League action this Thursday.
The Frenchman’s task may have been made easier today with news breaking that the Danish side’s top scorer this season Pieros Sotiriou is on the verge of an exit just days before facing Celtic.
No doubt though that Lennon and his coaching staff will be keeping the squad laser-focused regardless, knowing that there can be no complacency on our trip to Denmark.
If Celtic can avoid defeat in the Round of 32 first leg, we know the team have the quality to finish the job at Celtic Park.
