Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has sent a message to his team-mates after last week’s 2-1 loss to Rangers. The Hoops are still top of the league following the loss, but the Ibrox side have a game in hand.

Despite the loss, Jullien was eager to point out that the Hoops were still in a good position in the league, but pointed out that things can change very quickly.

“We know we are still in front in the championship, and we’re in a good position. But football can change quickly” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“Everyone moves so fast, so we still have to be really focused on what is ahead of us. I’m sure with the talent we have here, whether it’s the players or the staff, everyone will be doing a good job” he concluded.

Jullien’s message to his team-mates seems to be that they hit the ground running when they return after the winter break. That starts with the Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle on the 18th of January.

Jullien is also correct to point out that Celtic are still top of the Premiership table. That is something that seems to have been forgotten about in the aftermath of the derby defeat. Celtic are still the league leaders and should aim to extend that lead before Rangers play their game in hand.

As Jullien says, football can change. A few more wins for Celtic coupled with some dropped points for the Ibrox side and Celtic will once more be riding high at the top of the table.

For that to happen Celtic might have to go on another lengthy winning run. Thankfully the players have shown that they are capable of that so far this season. They have the quality to do so once more, and Jullien will likely play a big role in that.
