Christopher Jullien sends Twitter message to Celtic support after Hibernian win

Christopher Jullien’s display against Hibernian yesterday was close to faultless had it not been for one dodgy moment late on.

With Celtic 2-0 ahead against Jack Ross’ side, one of Hibs’ substitutes, Daryl Horgan, got some space down the left side. After getting a chance to cross with his right foot, he sent a dangerous whipped ball into the box.

Jullien initially seemed to be marshaling it to Fraser Forster. However, out of nowhere, he seemed to stick the head on it and force the shot-stopper into a fine reaction save.

The big defender took to Twitter to praise yet another big win for the club. And, in a light-heartening move, seemed to laugh off the incident with a sarcastic response:

Another test passed for Jullien

Hibs may have had their struggles this season, but this was still always going to be a real test for Jullien.

Florian Kamberi has always proven to be an incredible handful against Celtic. Christian Doidge, meanwhile, came into the game yesterday with seven goals in his previous six matches. There was plenty to be concerned about when you looked at Hibs’ frontmen.

Fortunately, Jullien made it look like yet another stroll in the park. He gave Doidge no change whatsoever, whilst Ajer was often the one who was getting tight to Kamberi. Between the pair, they snuffed out any danger that Hibs tried to provide.

Of course, they were also helped hugely by their captain Scott Brown. He gave the defence plenty of protection and shut down the service that Scott Allan looked to provide them.

What makes our defence’s performance all the more impressive, however, is that both Jullien and Ajer played 45 minutes in Cluj on Thursday as well as 90 against Rangers in the Betfred Cup the Sunday beforehand. They’re showing remarkable consistency levels for a duo who continue to play so much football.

Granted, it appeared that Jullien was itching for a goal with the venom in which he headed towards Forster. Thankfully, nothing appears to be getting buy the Englishman these days as our clean sheet remained intact.
