Read More"Clear punishment"; Reported Celtic target Mohanad Jeahze rages at ref after cup final loss
Reported Celtic target Mohanad Jeahze showed his fiery side earlier this week after Hammarby were beaten in the Swedish Cup final.
The Iraqi left-back has been linked with a move to Parkhead both in Scotland and Sweden. Expressen has claimed that the Hoops have already been to scout the player too.
No contact has as of yet been confirmed by the clubs, with Jeahze continuing to crack on with his Hammarby career. And it’s fair to say that it took a major blow on Thursday afternoon when they were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Malmo after a 0-0 draw on cup final day.
And Jeahze took aim at the referee as he showed he isn’t afraid to call out decisions post-match.
As quoted by Expressen, Jeahze said: “I can not take it. Against AIK we got a completely wrong penalty against us and now this one. Those who have eyes can see what is happening – clear punishment.
“Björn is pulled down completely. I’m shocked, the referee is standing there. But he does not dare to take responsibility.
“Wiliot tries to shoot and gets pulled down. The referee chooses to skip it as well. We are blown away by two penalties.”
Celtic-linked Mohanad Jeahze not afraid to call out clear decisions
Interesting to see Jeahze calling out the referee so clearly in this interview. Good luck in Scotland then Mohanad if you do arrive, you’ll have a fair time of it with our officials.
Indeed, it’s great to see that kind of passion from footballers. There needs to be a bit more honesty in the game. Speaking about decisions has become far too formulaic. You have to be able to speak your mind on things, it’s what injects some personality into the game.
Granted, we all know in Scotland you can’t go too far when it comes to criticising officials. We’re quick to slap fines or bans on to players that want to be honest about their feelings in this country.
Even so, you don’t mind seeing this from Jeahze at all. Some may twist it and say that it’s a dodgy sign of the player’s temper. But in reality, it just shows how much he cares about his club and how much passion he has for the cup final occasion.
You want players that will back your club to the hilt. Players that will have a bit of fire in their belly and feel injustice when it’s plausible.
Regardless, we continue to wait on a definitive conclusion to the Jeahze to Celtic story.
