Roy Keane used Celtic as an example to heap praise on Ange Postecoglou after his Tottenham Hotspur side beat Manchester United 2-0 on Saturday.
The former Celtic midfielder stated that Ange Postecoglou ‘doesn’t complicate the game’ and that he uses ‘common sense’ in his methods, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (19/08/23 at 8:10 pm).
Well, that attacking brand of football, mixed in with ‘common sense’, brought a lot of success to Paradise, including a historic Treble in what turned out to be his final campaign at the club.
This is after certain sections of the media questioned why Celtic decided to turn to the Greek-born Australian after Rangers had won the Premiership title under Steven Gerrard.
It just goes to show how you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and you certainly shouldn’t judge those you have little knowledge about.
As soon as Postecoglou started to imprint his own fingerprints on the team it sang and danced like never before, with Roy Keane liking what he is seeing from the now-Premier League boss first-hand.

“He doesn’t complicate the game,” said Keane. “He keeps it very simple.
“We have seen his stuff before at previous clubs, particularly when he was at Celtic. A lot of the things he is saying are just common sense.
“Sometimes, a club like Spurs needed that. We can all complicate the game, but he seems to simplify it very well.”

Postecoglou’s style
Celtic fans know full well the entertainment he brought to the club’s doorstep and how his Treble win was perhaps better than Brendan Rodgers’.
Either way, they shouldn’t be surprised that he has made a positive start to life as a Premier League manager.
Even though Postecoglou has lost star striker, Harry Kane, he is unbeaten in his first two games in charge, including scoring four goals to boot.
