Celtic will play Hibs in the Scottish League Cup final next month after the Edinburgh side beat Rangers at Hampden this evening.

The Ibrox side were simply awful in the semi-final, at one point finding themselves 3-0 down thanks to a stunning 38-minute hat-trick from Martin Boyle.

It became clear that they were not going to dig themselves out of a hole, despite scoring just before half-time through Scott Arfield.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was watching on in the stands and it’s clear he has a lot of work ahead with this Rangers group given the state Steven Gerrard has left them in – with no backroom staff.

Ange Postecoglou and his Bhoys will now savour a green and white final on December 19th for the opportunity to win the first silverware of the Scottish season.

It certainly won’t be easy against the Easter Road outfit. They were impressive today at the national stadium.

However, we have already beaten them 3-1 this season and will go into the final as heavy favourites.

The Bhoys have a huge chance to pick up silverware just months into the Postecoglou reign. It could well prove to be a massive springboard towards further success this season.

This rebuild is shaping up quite nicely indeed.
