Celtic will kick off yet another defence of the Betfred Cup with a home tie against Ross County in the last-16.
The tie is scheduled to be played on the weekend of November 28th/29th. The winner will then progress to the quarter-final of the competition.
Neil Lennon’s Bhoys are now defending the cup for the fourth consecutive year as they search for a fifth Betfred Cup success in-a-row. The trophy could also be the club’s 13th consecutive domestic trophy win if they beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup final next month.
Celtic managed to secure last year’s Betfred Cup with a pulsating 1-0 win at Hampden against Rangers in the final. The lack of crowds in football, however, could lead to the competition being played without any fans whatsoever this term.
It’ll also be interesting to see how Neil Lennon uses his squad during what will be a hectic period for the Bhoys. The last-16 clash against the Staggies comes in between two big Europa League trips against Sparta Prague and AC Milan respectively.
The fan reaction
It’s fair to say that the supporters were never going to be pessimistic regardless of who we drew.
The club’s 4-1 win at Fir Park before the international break has brought a modicum of positivity back after a period in which the Bhoys have struggled for confidence.

The match against could act as another good opportunity to get the spirits up once again, and the supporters are certainly not showing much in the way of wariness heading into the game against Stuart Kettlewell’s side.
The supporters are also pleased with the fact the draw has brought the Hoops a much-welcomed home tie. Given it’s sandwiched in between two Europa League games, minimising travel is a blessing not to be overlooked.
Here’s a look at some of that reaction as the Celtic faithful look forward to yet another Betfred Cup defence:
