Hearts will play Celtic or Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final this December after beating rivals Hibernian in tonight’s semi-final.
The Edinburgh derby went to extra time following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
A dramatic period followed with both Hibs and Hearts awarded penalties.
It was the Tynecastle club that showed composure from the spot, through Liam Boyce, to emerge as 2-1 victors.
The result is surprising considering they are playing in the Scottish second-tier and are only really getting their season started due to the ongoing pandemic.
Hibs meanwhile have impressed under Jack Ross of late and will be gutted to head out of the competition at the expense of their old foes.
If Celtic manage to beat the Dons tomorrow at Hampden, it sets up a mouthwatering showpiece final.
Neil Lennon’s Bhoys would be heavy favourites to lift the trophy again and win an unbelievable quadruple treble.
With the cup-tie rule waived, we could even go up against former goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who played superbly this evening and won BBC Scotland’s Man Of The Match award.

Nothing can be taken for granted in this competition though and, after last week’s 3-3 draw at Pittodrie, Celtic have big questions to answer on Sunday.
In other news, Hatem Abd Elhamed has returned to Neil Lennon’s Celtic squad.
