Scotland manager Steve Clarke has named his team for today’s massive Euro 2020 match against Czech Republic and it includes two Celtic players, per UEFA.com.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Marshall, O’Donnell, Robertson, McTominay, Hanley, McGinn, Dykes, Christie, Cooper, Armstrong, Hendry.

Substitutes – Gordon, McLaughlin, McGrgeor, Adams, Taylor, Turnbull, Nisbet, Fraser, Patterson, Gilmour, Forrest, McKenna.

It’s simply a huge day for Scottish football. If you’re a Celtic supporter from these shores the chances are you’ll be taking a keen interest in today’s match at Hampden.

I was just a wee boy when Scotland last played at a major tournament in 1998 and still remember the excitement. Like this team, that squad also had a number of Celtic icons involved including the likes of John Collins, Tom Boyd and Jackie McNamara.

Even if you’re not a supporter of the Scotland team, it’s undeniable that taking part in a major tournament is a great thing for players Callum McGregor, David Turnbull, James Forrest, Greg Taylor and Ryan Christie.

Only Christie has made today’s starting eleven out of that bunch, as well as loanee Jack Hendry, whose exit from Celtic still hasn’t been confirmed.

Former Celtic favourite Kieran Tierney is injured and isn’t even included on the bench list.

A massive 13 players in Steve Clarke’s squad either play for the Bhoys, used to play for us, or came through the club’s academy. That’s reason enough to get behind them today!

Avoiding defeat in a tournament opening game is always a key aim but given Scotland are at home and facing the Czechs, the lesser of three Group D opponents, Clarke’s side will be desperate to pick up three points.

Matches against England and Croatia could be much tougher so it’s crucial to get off to a prime start.

Scotland have never escaped a group at a major tournament so the Celtic Bhoys are shooting for history with their international teammates.
