Craig Gordon will be one of the new pundits on Sportscene this season – the BBC have announced.

The former Celtic keeper, our number one during the ‘Invincible’ season of 2016/2017, will make his debut on the Scottish football highlights show on Saturday evening.

Gordon left Celtic Park for a return to Hearts in late June – but the Jambos’ league season doesn’t start till mid October.

New Saturday highlights show should be good

It will be interesting to see what the former Scotland international can offer on the media scene.

He always seemed a pretty switched on guy during interviews, and should be able to offer lots of useful insight after decades in the game.

Sportscene’s overall coverage should be good this coming season.

They will broadcast three highlights shows on the opening weekend of the campaign – covering the Saturday, Sunday and then Monday action.

The BBC have also signed up the likes of James McFadden and Livingston’s Marvin Bartley, while former Celtic man Shaun Maloney will appear on Monday’s show.

Let’s just hope that Sunday’s programme features a fair few goals from the Bhoys in green.

In other news, Celtic have posted a first glimpse of the team’s new away kit for the coming season.
