Csaba Laszlo has given his opinion on Celtic prior to their clash against Cluj on Wednesday, and he probably shouldn’t have bothered.
The 55-year-old manages a team in Cluj’s homeland Romania and admits he was surprised Neil Lennon hadn’t been in touch for a helping hand. But after reading some of his quotes in the Scottish Sun you can probably see why.

“For Cluj to have a chance of beating Celtic, they must not get drawn into a fight,” Laszlo claimed. “Play the ball on the grass and not in the air.
“Celtic have problems at the back and in goals. Their central defenders are used to long balls and that’s easy for them. But if you play on the ground, they can be destabilised.
“The key is to press their defenders and goalkeeper into making mistakes. Celtic’s goalkeeper Craig Gordon has lost a lot of goals. He can be surprised by shots from distance.

“Mikey Johnston is very good, but for me their biggest danger man is Scott Sinclair.”
Laszlo is talking nonsense about Celtic
While Laszlo’s comments might have made some sense 18 months ago, they really hold little credibility nowadays. Craig Gordon has started just one competitive game in the whole of 2019 – last week in Estonia. Perhaps that’s where Laszlo saw him play.
Even if he was right about Gordon still being our number one then his actual opinion is still wrong. The keeper’s reflexes were never really in question. It was other aspects of his game like claiming crosses and kicking.
The Hungarian’s comments about Scott Sinclair being our main man belong in a museum. Sinclair hasn’t been our key player since the early part of 2017, nowadays he can’t even get in the team.

Let’s just hope Cluj are taking everything Laszlo says on board. If they are then they’ll get a little bit of a shock on Wednesday evening. As for the former Dundee United manager – he should just stick to his current side.
