Celtic’s trip to St. Mirren next week could be under threat, especially if the Buddies’ clash on Saturday is called off.
Neil Lennon takes his side to Paisley on Wednesday night, but Saints’ upcoming fixtures could be called off after they reported two positive cases of COVID-19 in their playing squad.
The BBC report that both Jak Alnwick, and the second unnamed player will miss both the games against Hibernian and Celtic, but that the matches are still set to go ahead.

And now the Daily Record have added further fuel to the fire by suggesting that the Paisley side have dropped a “major hint” that Saturday’s fixture could be off.
The paper say that the club have “delayed their press conference ahead of the game and warned journalists that it could be cancelled altogether.”
The Record also say that it is the SFA and SPFL who will have the final say over the fixture, despite National Clinical Director Jason Leitch chatting to St. Mirren.
Hopefully our visit to Paisley goes ahead
For our own selfish sakes it would be good to have Wednesday’s game take place.
We’re already chasing our rivals at the top of the table, due to the cancellation of two games at the start of the season.

One small positive to come from our Champions League exit was the free midweek that would allow us to get one of those games played and close the gap at the top.
It would be a real pain of COVID once again got in the way and cancelled the fixture for the second time.
If the Saints game tomorrow is called off you would expect the same to happen for our game in midweek.
But, as with so much that’s COVID related, we’re playing a bit of a guessing game.
