Daizen Maeda speaks excitedly after signing for Celtic
New Celtic signing Daizen Maeda has addressed his transfer to Glasgow on the official Yokohama F.Marinos website.
Maeda has joined the Bhoys with compatriots Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate in a triple deal that has absolutely delighted supporters.
The Marinos man is the most known to manager Ange Postecoglou after working with him in Japan. He may also be the most exciting of the trio having finished top scorer in the 2021 J1-League season with 23 goals.
Maeda is excited to join Celtic
Speaking to the Yokohama F.Marinos website [translated by Google], Maeda said: “Thank you for visiting the stadium or supporting me on TV despite the corona disaster.
“I joined in the 2020 season. I was really disappointed that I couldn’t live up to the expectations of the fans and supporters, so I thought, “It’s the 2021 season!”
“That’s why I felt that sense of unity in the stadium when I scored the goal in the final round, and said, “I wasn’t wrong that I came” and “I’m really happy to be able to play soccer at Yokohama F. Marinos.”

“I am really grateful to my teammates and coaching staff for understanding the feeling of desire to take on the challenge again overseas. I’m going to find my own way so that I can make a good report! I’m going to BOSS!”
Encouragingly Maeda sounds excited to be working under the Celtic manager again, referencing him at the end of the statement.
Postecoglou should know exactly how to get the best out of the attacker who can play on the left flank or through the middle as a striker.
With high energy and a pressing style, he looks to be very much in the mould of our superstar Kyogo Furuhashi. If he’s half as good he will be an excellent addition to the squad.
