Daniel Arzani confirmed last night he is out for the season with an ACL injury. Arzani’s injury came less than 20 minutes into his Celtic debut.

The Aussie took to Twitter to reveal the extent of his injury, stating he needs an operation.

Brendan Rodgers stated both Arzani and Eboue Kouassi would likely miss the rest of the season.

In his 18 minute cameo, Arzani impressed the travelling Celtic support.

He looked bright on the ball and should have been rewarded with an assist for an excellent cross to Kieran Tierney.

Arzani’s injury comes as a tough blow to the youngster. He had waited patiently for his chance at Celtic.

With Celtic’s injury crisis getting worse, Arzani looked poised to take his chance in the first team.

Unfortunately, he became the latest name on the casualty list.

‘Stronger than ever’

Arzani vowed in his tweet to take his chance to return stronger than ever.

It suggests he is happy and settled at Celtic. The youngster will no doubt be crushed by his unfortunate injury.

Arzani’s injury will cost him the domestic season, but also international experience with Australia.

Dubbed ‘the most exciting prospect in Australian football,’ Arzani’s loss will be felt by the Socceroos.

He was considered a certainty to be named in the squad to compete in the Asian Cup.

Celtic and Australia have been robbed of Arzani’s services until next season.

Arzani himself now faces a long road to recovery as he plots his way back to full fitness. He showed enough in 18 minutes in Dundee to suggest he can be a real asset to Celtic.

With a fresh start in 2019 looming, lets hope he comes back stronger than ever.
