Celtic outcast Daniel Arzani says he hopes to be “back on the park for good” after the winter shutdown as he took to Instagram to share his current mindset with the Hoops faithful.

The Brendan Rodgers signing has featured just once since joining the club at the start of last season. That came in a league win over Dundee 14 months ago – an awful evening that saw the Aussie sustain an cruel ACL injury.

It’s been a long road back for Arzani at Celtic Park, and many are still sceptical he will ever be seen in the Hoops again with just months left of his loan deal from Manchester City. However, the attacker is clearly targetting a return to the pitch going by his Friday Instagram post from Pierchic, Dubai.

Arzani kept it short and sweet saying: “Little break before hopefully being back on the park for good.”

Arzani deserves credit for his attitude despite Celtic disappointment

Although we haven’t seen much of the Aussie international, he certainly does have a decent pedigree having played at a World Cup and been signed by the English treble winners.

He also has the impressive ability of being able to play comfortably across our three attacking midfield positions. Given that we’re a little short of back-up to James Forrest, having Arzani as part of our plans could be a real boost to the squad as a whole.

The mid-season shutdown gives players like Arzani a terrific opportunity to fight his way back into Neil Lennon’s plans. With no games for three weeks or so, Lennon will get to see how the players are coping in training only. That should take away a lot of the pressure for Arzani to perform in a match environment.

His Celtic story so far has been a bit of a nightmare truth be told. But he still seems to have the right attitude to make things right. That can only bode well for the next few months.
