It doesn’t look like Danny Simpson will take too much time to get up to speed during his Celtic trial.

The English full-back will join up for a training stint at Lennoxtown next week, according to the Scottish Sun. Simpson is currently without a club after leaving Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester at the end of the season.

However, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be out of shape when he arrives in Glasgow. The 32-year-old has been training hard since the end of last season and recently posted some snaps of him post work-out in Dubai.

The Englishman tagged himself alongside Crystal Palace man Jeffrey Schlupp and recent Celtic target Liam Moore.

Will Simpson impress at Celtic?

Simpson certainly doesn’t look like a guy who’s downed tools after his Leicester release. He looks keen to stay fit and that will hopefully pay dividends when he arrives at Lennoxtown.

After playing over 200 top-flight English matches, he clearly has immense experience. That could be useful to Celtic but only if his attitude is right and he doesn’t think Scotland is going to be a stroll in the park.

Judging by his summer training activity, he wants to make an impression.
