Former Celtic cult hero Dariusz Dziekanowski is hopeful that Celtic sign fellow Polish forward Patryk Klimala. The Hoops have been linked with a January swoop for the Jagiellonia Bialystok striker, who reportedly has a release clause of four million Euros in his contract.
Dziekanowski believes that the player will go on to be a star of the future, and represents ‘amazing value’.
“When you see some of the prices for players these days, Klimala is amazing value for money” he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“Make Celtic a very big profit”
“He is the kind of player who will make Celtic a very big profit in a few years. Top-class forwards are in short supply at the moment. They seem to be targeting a certain type of striker in a certain age bracket and Klimala fits the bill.”
What could throw a spanner in the works are reports that the player only wants to move to a club where he will be the first choice striker. That isn’t likely to happen for the moment at Celtic. Odsonne Edouard is rightfully Celtic’s first choice forward.
In time that situation could change though, as Edouard probably won’t be at Celtic for that much longer. Klimala could take his place then.
Fits bracket of recent Hoops forward signings
As Dziekanowski says though, Klimala does seem to fit the bracket of recent Celtic forward signings. He is 21, and no doubt as happened with Moussa Dembele and will likely happen with Edouard the plan will be to sell the player off for a huge profit after a few years at the club.
However, it remains to be seen if Klimala will be the striker that joins Celtic in the January transfer window. If he does, he will be expected to hit the ground running and help the Hoops win nine in a row. That is a test that will have to be up for, but Dziekanowski sounds confident that will be the case.
