Former Celtic boss Davie Hay has admitted that Odsonne Edouard could follow in Moussa Dembele’s footsteps by leave the Hoops for a lot of money.
Dembele left the Hoops at the start of the season to join Lyon for a reported fee of £19.7 million. Hay believes that if Edouard keeps up his run of form he could eventually be sold for a similar price.
“Moussa Dembele went to Lyon for £20million. This young lad will one day soon be in that price bracket” Hay told the Evening Times.
“I don’t want to see him go”

“I’ve been trying to think who he reminds me of but Edouard is a bit of a one-off. I don’t want to see him go. It would will be great to see how he develops at Celtic for a few years yet.”

Edouard has certainly thrived since the departure of Dembele. His recent goal against Rangers took his tally for the season to 19 so far.
Needs to shine in Europe

It is unlikely that if he left the Hoops in the summer he would attract the price tag that Dembele did. That could happen in a few years, especially if Edouard shines in the Champions League.
Therefore, as Hay says, he should stay in Glasgow for a few more years to continue his development as a player.
Only then should he concern moving on from Glasgow to his next adventure.
