Former Celtic manager Davie Hay has been impressed with how well Leigh Griffiths has performed for the club in recent matches.
Griffiths has scored two goals in his last two games for the Hoops, and looks to have formed a formidable partnership with Odsonne Edouard.
However, despite praising how well the striker has performed recently, Hay has warned the player against any complacency now that he is back in the first-team.
“He has clearly done that over the winter break and in Dubai, so fair play to him for putting in the hard work that was required” Hay said, writing in his column in the Evening Times.
“Mustn’t get complacent”

“This is just the start for him, and he mustn’t get complacent and think he is back to where he was. That is still some way off, but he is making great strides in the right direction.”
Hay is correct about Griffiths not getting complacent. However, there is one factor that you would imagine would lead to Griffiths not getting complacent, and that is the presence of Patryk Klimala at the club.
Griffiths must be aware that if he fails to keep up his current level of performance, then the recent signing will more than likely take his place in the first-team.
Presence of recent signing at club should inspire player

That alone should inspire Griffiths to keep playing well. He knows that any slip-ups could see him back on the bench. He won’t want that to happen, after rarely featuring for the Hoops in the first-half of the season.
Griffiths will no doubt have a good chance to add to his recent goal tally when the Hoops take on Ross County later this afternoon.
Should he perform well in that game Neil Lennon will have to keep selecting him for the team, no matter which other strikers are in the squad.
