Celtic are on the lookout for a new head of recruitment at the club following Lee Congerton’s departure to join Leicester City.
The Hoops have yet to fill the position, which needs to be done quite quickly as the transfer window is days away from opening.
Quiet on the rumour front

There have been no real rumours as to who will be given the job. Celtic seem to be keeping this appointment quiet.
However, former Celtic boss Davie Hay has revealed who he thinks should be given the job – one-time Celtic reserve manager Willie McStay.

“Knows the club inside and out”
“He is a man who not only knows a player, but he knows the club inside out and perhaps most importantly, knows the qualities required and what it takes to be a Celtic player” Hay said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“For me, it’s a no-brainer.”
McStay would certainly be a candidate out of left-field. He had plenty of success with the Celtic reserve team but that was in the past.

However, as Hay says he does know the club very well, having been both a player and a coach.
Celtic must get this appointment correct. It is fair to say few tears were shed when Congerton departed due to bad signings made by the club.
With nine in a row on the line this season, the Hoops can’t afford to make any mistakes. That includes who they appoint as new head of recruitment.
