Former Celtic boss Davie Hay has disclosed that he has not been impressed so far by Jeremy Toljan.
Toljan was signed by previous Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers. But he recently lost his place in the Hoops first-team by Mikael Lustig. That decision by Neil Lennon came as no shock to Hay.
“Can’t say I was too surprised”

“I can’t say that I was too surprised to see Mikael Lustig back in the starting XI for the win over Hibs last weekend” he told the Evening Times.
“I just don’t think that Jeremy Toljan has offered too much in that right-back berth since coming into the club. I am not sure that he really shows anything that Celtic do not have at their disposal already.”

Prospects look remote
Toljan joined the Hoops in January on loan from Borussia Dortmund. But if he is unable to displace Lustig from the first-team his long-term prospects at Celtic look remote.

It will be intriguing to see who interim boss Lennon selects as right-back against Aberdeen on Saturday. You would imagine that Lustig will keep his place in the side. He didn’t let anyone down in the 2-0 win over Hibernian.
In fact, he did well in what was his first Hoops start in a month.
Sometimes when a new manager comes in he likes to make sweeping changes. That certainly looks to be the case when it comes to Celtic’s right-back situation.
