Welsh football legend Dean Saunders has tipped Celtic to win a ninth successive title this season.
Much has been made of a supposed fragility around Neil Lennon’s side following a high player turnover this summer. Many expect Rangers to close the gap from last season’s deficit of nine points and give the Hoops more of a title challenge.

Saunders says he feels things are closer in Scotland but he still expects Lennon’s team to get the job done.
The 55-year-old told talkSPORT (19/7/19 at 7am): “Steven Gerrard has raised interest in the Scottish game just by going there.
“It had got to the point where Celtic were just running away with everything and it was about who would finish second.

“But he has got Rangers a bit closer to Celtic.
“Has he got the funds to go and take Celtic on? I don’t think so.”
Is Saunders right to tip Celtic?
Much has been made of Rangers apparently closing the gap with some of their signings so far this summer.
However, the fact remains that Celtic are still operating at a different level in the transfer market. The recent big-money signings of Christopher Jullien and Odsonne Edouard are deals that the Ibrox side could only dream of.

We have added real quality so far this summer and have plenty of returning players who also feel like new signings. The likes of Leigh Griffiths, Lewis Morgan and Mikey Johnston are all likely to add a freshness this coming season and that should be enough to keep us on an upward trend.
Rangers may be an improved side this year, but so will Celtic. A lot of people seem to forget that.
