Ronny Deila is clearly in the mood for Celtic’s Scottish Cup final charge. The Norwegian, who led the Hoops to three trophies between 2014 and 2016, has been filmed paying a special tribute to the late Billy McNeill.

The current Valarenga manager is seen sticking a poster of the former Celtic captain to a glass window at the Intility Arena in Oslo.

Deila’s side are currently third in the Eliteserien with 17 points from nine games. They face Lillestrom at 5pm British time on Saturday. While his main focus will be his current side, Deila’s mind would be forgiven for wandering off to Hampden.

Always welcome
Deila will always have a good relationship with the Celtic support. The 43-year-old conducted himself in a fine manner in his two seasons in Scotland, even during a tough second season.
He was also responsible for our fourth and fifth titles in a row and will hopefully be remembered fondly in the history books.

He also signed or nurtured a lot of the Celtic men who will play at Hampden. The likes of Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and Kristoffer Ajer were all given their opportunity by Deila.
The Norwegian is welcome back at Celtic Park any time.
