Outgoing Celtic captain Scott Brown has replied to former Hoops team-mate and Preston North End star Scott Sinclair’s classy Twitter tribute.
Broony played his final game for the club on Saturday as he took part in the 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road. With a pre-contract move to Aberdeen as a player/assistant coach all wrapped up, Brown’s 14-year Parkhead career is over.
Sinclair, of course, was a major part in bringing through Brown’s biggest era of dominance. His arrival alongside Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2016 sparked our quadruple treble run, with Sinky leaving back in January 2020. The duo enjoyed tremendous success together and have remained close on social media to this day.
No surprises then that Sinclair produced a heart-warming Instagram tribute to the departing captain last night. Broony, meanwhile, was quick to respond:

Scott Brown and Scott Sinclair – as successful a Celtic pair as we’ve seen
Certainly for younger Celtic fans, the combination of Brown and Sinclair just symbolises one thing – success. For many, you simply couldn’t pick a better duo in recent years when it comes to winning trophies.
Both men were part of the Invincible treble run. Both men were key to the treble-treble success. Granted, Sinky didn’t contribute too much to the quadruple run, but it was his arrival with Rodgers that ushered in the era of total dominance for the football club.

It’s no surprise to see Sinclair pay his own respects to Brown. Both men were brilliant for each other during their Celtic days, and it’s clear to see they had terrific chemistry with each other.
All eyes of course now go on to how Brown does at his new club next season. It will undoubtedly be the first of many gigs he has in both coaching and football management. But it’ll be absolutely fascinating to see how he conducts himself in the dugout after working under so many bosses at Celtic Park.
One thing’s for sure, it’ll certainly be entertaining.
In other news, a Celtic Lennoxtown graduate bagged an important individual achievement yesterday.
