Some Rangers supporters are already losing the plot ahead of this weekend’s derby against Celtic, feeling that Odsonne Edouard should be banned for the fixture.
Desperate Ibrox fans have been poring over footage from yesterday’s superb 3-0 Celtic win.
They’ve taken particular issue with a tackle from Edouard on Dundee United man Peter Pawlett.
The Frenchman went for a 50-50 challenge in the first half, appearing to get his foot on the ball before it collided with the United star.
It was a nothing incident and nowhere near a red card.
That hasn’t stopped those of a Rangers persuasion calling on Edouard to be banned for the weekend’s derby.
Unfortunately for them, even if the Scottish FA were daft enough to cite him, the Hampden offices are shut for the next four days and can’t do so until then.
Edouard’s Celtic resurgence
It’s little wonder they fear Edouard, in honesty.
The 22-year-old has a fantastic record against the outfit, scoring six goals in nine appearances since arriving in Scotland from Paris Saint-Germain (Transfermarkt).
When you compare that to Alfredo Morelos’ zero goals in 13 derby appearances, you start to see why they are a little worried about Edouard’s resurgence in form recently.
He’s had a quiet season, but his glorious dinked finish against United has him on the goalscoring trail again.

That effort, alongside his renewed partnership with Leigh Griffiths, has sparked hope of a good Celtic display across the city.
Can he bolster his derby reputation with another goal on Saturday?
The meltdown would be glorious.
In other news, Neil Lennon’s latest comments hint at a bold Celtic selection on Saturday.
