Celtic have suffered an injury disappointment ahead of the Champions League clash against Sarajevo on Tuesday night.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon revealed on the Celtic Twitter account that winger Marian Shved didn’t travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the match due to an injury.
The news is disappointing for the Hoops as fans will have been looking forward to seeing the player in his competitive debut for the club.
Looking to set a marker down
It is also disappointing for the player. He would have been looking to set a marker down early on in his Hoops career.
However, injuries are something that happens to every player. Shved will be hoping that the knock isn’t that serious. That he can take part in the second leg against Sarajevo next Wednesday.
Hopefully recovered in time for friendly
Perhaps Shved will have recovered from his knock in time to face Rennes in the pre-season friendly at Celtic Park on Saturday.
If that is the case, he could well be involved in the second leg of the tie against Sarajevo. For now though, Lennon will have to look to players who have done well in the past for him.
The likes of Scott Sinclair and James Forrest.
Hopefully in the future Shved will become one of those players. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a while to see his competitive Hoops debut.
