Do Lennon comments point towards departure of Celtic fan favourite?

When it comes to Celtic and transfers, one of the biggest stories this summer is the future of Kieran Tierney. Arsenal are interested in the player, and reports suggest that they are set to make an offer of £19 million for the player.

However, we hadn’t heard much from Celtic boss Neil Lennon on the matter until recently. But the Hoops boss had his say on the matter during Celtic’s pre-season tour of Austria.

His comments were interesting, to say the least.

“He has a price”

“He has a price, every player does” Lennon said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“If any team wants to match that then we have a decision to make but until then there’s nothing further to say on it really.”

Could player leave once valuation is met?

Those comments could indicate that Tierney could be on his way once a team matches the price that the Hoops want for the player.

That is likely to be far in excess of the £19 million that Arsenal may be set to offer.

Lennon’s comments could apply to most of the Celtic squad though. If an acceptable offer is made, then the club would need to decide what to do next.

That seems to be the case with Tierney. At the moment, the player will remain at Celtic until an acceptable bid is made.
