TV legend Dominik Diamond has voiced his support in favour of Celtic ultras, the Green Brigade.
The hardy Hoops fans voiced their dismay towards fellow supporter Rod Stewart yesterday. The explicit banner told the rocker he wasn’t welcome at Celtic Park because of his support for Boris Johnson.
It’s something that’s splitting the fans down the middle, but Diamond is clear that he is fine with it.
Dominik Diamond on the Green Brigade
Post election, there is always going to be a bit of controversy everywhere you look, even football in cases.

The Green Brigade are an openly political group on the left of politics. They joined several other fans in their dismay of Stewart’s congrats message to new PM, Johnson.
Others believe that politics and the banner has no place in football. Nevertheless, Diamond came out against his fellow celeb fan to back the ultras.
The Daily Record report him saying: “But Celtic were also set up to help poor immigrants. The Tories do not want to help the poor or immigrants.
“They want to make it impossible for them to live safe, warm and fed.

“Therefore perfectly acceptable to express anti-Tory sentiment in Celtic Park.”
Anti-Conservative chants were also heard at Parkhead, which even prompted pundit Tam McManus to voice his disgust.
Stewart family not stopping Celtic support
Wife Penny Lancaster posted a pro-Celtic message on her Instagram on the same day as the banner. It was a message of support for her son who plays for a team named in honour of the Hoops.
She said: “So excited for the future of our BS ‘Hoops’ under 9’s team.

“Undefeated and Rod is so proud. Thanks for the extra star support of Gordon Strachan!”
It’ll be interesting to see if Stewart himself addresses the banners or the stadium sentiments.
However, will the Green Brigade themselves be getting into more bother over the banner? It could be that one of the two may not be coming back to Parkhead any time soon due to the fall-out.
