Shea Kearney has more than one thing in common with Dunfermline boss and Celtic legend Neil Lennon:
Both of the pair grew up in Celtic-supporting families in Lurgan, County Armagh.
Now, both will also be hoping to deny Martin O’Neill — a fellow Hoops icon from the North of Ireland — in a perfectly-scripted Scottish Cup final.
Kearney moved to East End Park from Cliftonville last summer; he has previewed what will be his biggest day yet with the club.

Shea Kearney: ‘I wouldn’t have believed’ Celtic Scottish Cup final opportunity

“My da is a big Celtic fan, and when I was younger, he would have taken me and my wee brother to a lot of the games… but this week, we’re not Celtic fans.
“I was watching the game against Hearts last Saturday, and I was delighted to see them get over the line, but football is a selfish game. We’re in this for ourselves and we want the Scottish Cup.
“It’ll be an upset if we win, 100 per cent, but when these big games have come along this season, we’ve played better.

Chris Sutton has completely shut it down!
“So we’re going in expecting it to be our toughest game of the season, but we’re not without a chance.”
He continued: “Celtic are always going to be a top side. The whole drama of them winning the league doesn’t really matter; we have to go into this game expecting them to be on top of their game.
“We have to go in and do everything we can and if we can get a goal we’ve a very strong defensive set-up so we have full belief that we can put it up to them.”
